A motion was made by CATON CAMPBELL, seconded by KEMBLE, that the  
Minutes be approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.

D. Discussion Items  
1. Dane County Pandemic Food System Study  
Wrapped up data gathering process. Will share preliminary recommendations with liaison  
team (Dan Cornelius, Bill, Jess, Marcia, Yusuf Bin-Rella, Yimmuaj Yang, Mariela  
Quesada Centeno); final report/presentations in Feb 2023. Looking to get in front of food  
councils, Dane County Board, Madison Common Council; also create summary materials  
for general public (in multiple languages).  
2. 2023 USDA Regional Food System Partnership (RFSP) grant & fundraising  
- Dane County Food Plan budget amendment - approved by Personnel & Finance Cmte  
last night (11/1) for full $62,500; next step is for County Board to vote on full budget  
starting Mon 11/7.  
-Divide up tasks for RFSP application planning, before 12/7 meeting - info to come via  
email. Review grant categories to apply for, review previously-funded/completed projects,  
consider potential partners.  
3. Dane County food system concept paper  
On hold for now; await Sift materials coming in Feb 2023.  
4. North Central SARE Professional Development grant  
a. Michigan State’s 2021 food system plan grant  
b. Michigan State created a Michigan Good Food Charter:  
5. USDA grant opportunities; statewide communication & partnerships  
a. Urban Ag and Innovative Production Grant:  
6. Farm Bill 2023  
a. USDA grants are not consistent with match and what the match is; cash vs in kind.  
E. Announcements  
–Jess will keep the group posted about the Food Plan county budget amendment  
proposal progress.  
F. Future Meeting Items and Dates  
Next meeting: Weds, 12/7 @3pm (zoom)  
Jess can send out different pieces of the RFSP RFA for the team to look over (as Marcia  
recommended).
