The July 20, 2023 Executive Committee meeting will be a hybrid meeting. Members of the public can  
either attend in person or virtually via Zoom.  
The public can attend in person at City-County Building, Room 354.

Sup. McCarville gave an overview of the OA and indicated it was a "clean up"  
amendment.

ORDINANCES, REGARDING CLAIMS

Supervisor Weigand gave an overview of the OA and explained that it creates greater  
efficiency for the Personnel and Finance Committee process. Dan Lowndes answered  
committee member questions.  
A motion was made by PALM, seconded by VELDRAN, that the ordinance be  
recommended for approval. The motion carried by a voice vote.

REPORT ON WISCONSIN STATE BUDGET BY DANE COUNTY GOVERNMENT  
AFFAIRS DIRECTOR  
Carrie Springer, Dane County Government Affairs Director, gave a report on the WI state  
budget. This budget contains the first shared revenue increase in decades. See attached  
report for more detail.

H. Future Meeting Items and Dates  
The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be held off site, at Indian Lake County  
Park. It will begin on Thursday, August 17, at 6:30 PM, just prior to the County Board  
meeting. It will not be in a hybrid format since there is not AV equipment available at the  
park.

J. Such Other Business as Allowed by Law  
Chair Miles mentioned that the County Board Office has started facilitating the  
$5000/semester UW student research projects on County Board policy topics. The two  
subjects for the fall semester projects are (a) Pay for Success programs and (b)  
sustainability and resilience models for government event spaces like the AEC.
