1. Global Fest
This is in the early planning stages – The message: To promote diversity in
Dane County. The date - around Fall, non-game day in 2026, central location
suggested e.g. Monona Terrace, Overture Center, Alliant Energy Center,
Concourse Hotel. Suggested partnerships with established organizations
already doing the same work to help with funding issues and sponsorships.
Items to consider: the collective vision, accessible parking, weather, cultural
concerns, bus routes, bike routes, health concerns (e.g. rise in measles, Covid
variations) and overlapping events. Review what type of event to focus on
e.g. resource fair, culturally relevant, self-select, teach, sell, and make
aware.
Chair will create Google Doc to compile list of organizations.
Staff will follow up regarding guidelines including funding/budget and
provide feedback at future meeting.
