The Wednesday April 23, 2025 AAA Legislative/Advocacy Committee meeting will be a hybrid meeting.  
Members of the public can either attend in person or virtually via Zoom.  
The public can attend in person at the ADRC building, 2865 N Sherman Ave Room 109, Madison.  
The public can access the meeting virtually with the Zoom application or by telephone.

IN PERSON: Any members of the public wishing to register to speak on/support/oppose an agenda item  
can register in person at the meeting using paper registration forms. IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO  
REGISTER VIA THE ZOOM LINK ABOVE EVEN IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING IN PERSON.  
In person registrations to provide public comment will be accepted throughout the meeting.

B. Consideration of Minutes  
AAA Legislative//Advocacy Committee Minutes from February 26, 2025.  
Introduction of Dane County Legislative Lobbyist Lacy Fox. Lacy has many years of  
experience working with state delegates and legislative matters.  
A motion was made by RAEMISCH, seconded by BUNCK, that the minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.  
C. Action Items  
1. Advocacy Supporting Federal & State Programs  
OAA Draft Letter  
Disability and Aging Administrator Angela Velasquez presented detailed Federal 2026  
Budget information gathered from a USAging Emergency Advocacy Call on Monday, April  
21. VELASQUEZ presented a draft advocacy letter reflecting the information from the  
USAging call and requesting the letter be sent to the AAA Board for approval in  
advocating for older adults to the State and Federal delegates.  
A motion by SCHMIDLKOFER, seconded by CASTANEDA, to approve the  
revised advocacy letter to be forwarded to the AAA Board with a  
recommendation the letter be approved and sent by the AAA Board. The  
motion carried by a voice vote.  
2. 2026 Budget Priorities  
2026 Budget Request-Transportation Share Costs  
VELASQUEZ presented the transportation funding request for consideration should  
additional funding be available in the 2026 budget deliberations as submitted by the  
Focal Point Directors. Discussion among committee members about transportation  
additional funding request from Focal Points.  
A motion was made by CASTANEDA, seconded by BUNCK, to forward the  
budget paper to the AAA Board for their information. The motion carried by  
the following vote:
