1. Internal Dane County Tree Preservation Resolution: A few members will work on the  
issue together as long as there is no walking quorum  
2. Parks and Open Space Plan recommendations Wahl submitted some notes about the  
Plan, need to submit these to Parks. Noone will send out Wahl’s comments for the  
DCTB to review. In addition, Brodbeck and Rich will review the Plan document and  
Wahl’s notes, and provide comments by August , 2024.  
F. Action Items  
1. Additional TB purchases $2000 remaining in budget. The Board discussed building  
more tree cribs for Sun Prairie Elementary and Thoreau (no vote on this item yet)  
2. Internal Dane County Tree Preservation Resolution BRODBECK wants to see samples  
of resolutions so she understands framework and what needs to be in it. RITT says if a  
bulleted list of what the board wants in it is provided, she can work with County Board  
staff and Corporate Counsel to help write it and turn it into a resolution. The department  
involved in the resolution also needs to approve. The list will be generated at the next  
meeting on July 16.  
3. DCTB Application to the Bock Foundation Grant was submitted for funding to create a  
model tree preservation ordinance; CARPC would work on it with DCTB if funded.  
NOONE would recuse as he is a CARPC employee; others on staff would work with the  
Tree Board  
4. Tree Board applicants. Two applicants applied for the 9th seat on the Board.  
Candidates are Kate Kendziora and Sean Gere. After much discussion, a motion was  
made for the DCTB chair to write an email letter to the County Exec’s office to  
recommend Kendziora for the seat.  
A motion was made by WEISS, seconded by BRODBECK, that the DCTB chair to  
write an email letter to the County Exec’s office to recommend Kendziora for the  
seat be approved. The motion carried unanimously 6-0.
