The Monday October 7, 2024 AAA Board meeting will be a hybrid meeting. Members of the public can  
either attend in person or virtually via Zoom.  
The public can attend in person at the ADRC building, 2865 N Sherman Ave Room 108, Madison.  
The public can access the meeting virtually with the Zoom application or by telephone.

1. AAA Aging Plan Development Process and Draft Goals (Sridevi Mohan)  
AAA AGING PLAN DEVELOPMENT PROCESS & DRAFT GOALS  
AAA Manager Sridevi Mohan delivered a PowerPoint presentation. Disability & Aging  
Services Division Administrator Angela Velasquez, AAA Registered Dietitian and Healthy  
Aging Coordinator Shannon Gabriel, and Mohan answered Board Members' questions.  
Mohan will share the draft goals with some identified actions to Board Members for the  
purpose of receiving feedback.

E. Reports to Board  
1. State & Federal Report (Langer)  
Laura Langer of the Wisconsin Bureau of Aging and Disability Resources (BADR)  
reported the following:  
- A change to Older Americans Act Title III-C1 regulations that will allow up to 20  
percent of funding to be used to provide meals to unhoused and homeless persons.  
- The Alzheimer's Family Care Support Program (AFCSP) will no longer require an  
Alzheimer's/dementia diagnoses or means testing.  
- Wisconsin has been awarded a Family Caregiver Grant for two years at $250,000 per  
year. BADR will share more information later this week.  
- BADR will be asking for more oversight and monitoring of contracts that counties have  
with providers in an effort to be certain that Older Americans Act services are provided  
proportionally through AAAs and focal points.

3. Board Member Status  
Mohan submitted the names of two individuals interested in joining the AAA Board to the  
County Executive's Office for consideration. AAA staff will contact Board Members  
James and Wreh to learn if they wish to continue serving.  
4. Chair & Staff Reports

5. Budget advocacy updates (APS and Transportation)  
Velasquez shared that the County Executive included the ask for $224,000-plus to fund  
the creation of a Dementia Stabilization Care Transition Unit in her budget request and  
suggested a thank you note to the County Executive and a letter to County Board  
Supervisors outlining the critical importance of the item remaining in the budget would be  
appropriate.
