A motion was made by FURMAN, seconded by LEVIN, that the Minutes from the  
August 6, 2025 Lakes and Watershed Commission meeting be approved. The  
motion carried by a voice vote 8-0.

1 Updates from the Clean Lakes Alliance  
Paul Dearlove provided an update on the Clean Lakes Alliance. The  
presentation is available below.

G. Reports to Committee  
1 Report on comments received from local Fire & EMS services regarding Chapter 71: Regulation of  
Icebound Inland Waters  
Minks reported reaching out to local Fire and Emergency Medical Services that  
would respond to incidents on icebound inland lakes. No comments were  
received.  
A motion was made by FURMAN, seconded by ENGELBERGER, recommending  
that Dane County staff work with Corporation Council on updating and amending  
Dane County Ordinance Chapter 71. The motion carried by a voice vote 8-0.

2 2026 Lakes and Watershed Commission Budget Recommendations  
Commission members recommended starting 2027 budget discussions shortly  
after the 2027 County Budget Guidelines are released.  
DRAFT Lakes and Watershed Commission 2026 Budget Recommendations  
A motion was made by Levin, seconded by Engelberger, to amend the 2026  
Lakes and Watershed Commission Budget Recommendations to include under  
item #1 "Provide $18,000 in funding for increased monitoring of public beaches."  
The motion carried by a voice vote 8-0.

A motion was made by BLAZEWICZ, seconded by LEVIN, to approve the  
amended 2026 Lakes and Watershed Commission Budget Recommendations.  
The motion carried by a voice vote 8-0.  
H. Future Meeting Items and Dates  
1 Next Lakes and Watershed Commission meeting is tentatively scheduled for October 22nd starting at  
5:30 pm.

A motion was made by FURMAN, seconded by BLAZEWICZ, that the meeting be  
adjourned. The motion carried unanimously.
