A. Call To Order
Chair Thoresen called the Park Commission Meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
Staff Present: Andy Paulios, Sharene Smith, Joleen Stinson.
Youth Governance Program Member Aleena Sanghvan Present.
Others Present: Dr. Amy Alstad, Erin Trondson, Jim Welch.

B. Consideration of Minutes
Minutes of the January 14, 2026 Park Commission
A motion was made by BROUWER that the Minutes be approved. The motion
carried by a voice vote 7-0, YGP 1-0.
Chair Thoresen requested to move the Presentation up on the agenda. There was unanimous consent by
Park Commission members.
D. Presentations
1. Conservation Fund Presentation: Holy Wisdom Monastery Property Management
and Potential Conservation Easement (North Mendota Natural Resource Area)
Dr. Amy Alstad, Director of Land Management & Environmental Education at
Holy Wisdom Monastery, provided an overview of the Monastery's mission and
their land restoration initiatives. She highlighted the sisters' commitment to
environmental stewardship and community engagement. They are interested in
placing a conservation easement on 70 acres of the property.
