The Monday, February 2, 2026 AAA Board meeting will be a hybrid meeting.

Chair FARSETTA called the meeting to order at 3:46pm.

C. Presentation  
a. Senior Life Solutions-Deanna Houck and Emily Breckenridge, Stoughton  
Health  
Mental Health Program for Older Adults. Designed to help  
people typically 65 and older who are experiencing  
symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health  
challenges. Intensive outpatient therapy program. A step  
down from geriatric psychiatry small group therapy. Group  
therapy up to three times a week at Stoughton Hospital. In  
person or virtual. (10-11 people). 45 minutes each group -  
support group, skilled group (depression) insight -oriented  
group - what did we learn today? Nurses monitor vitals  
etc. Patients are part of this before they are discharged.  
D. Action item  
1. Vote to Lower AAA Board Membership to Nine  
i. Current: "The Board is made up of 11 members consisting of at-large  
community members and Dane County Board of Supervisors who have a  
recognized ability and demonstrated interest in services for older adults."  
Board members discussed decreasing board  
membership. The new Advisory Council will have  
fifteen seats, so there will be ample involvement of  
members between the Board, Advisory Council and  
committees. If future needs require the AAA board  
membership to increase again, such action can be  
taken by the AAA Board Members.  
A motion was made by WEGLEITNER, seconded by KUHN, to approve  
reduction of the AAA Board membership to nine. The motion carried  
unanimously.  
E. Reports to Board  
1. State and Federal Report (Langer)  
Laura Langer of the WI Bureau of Aging and Disability Resources  
(BADR) reported the state office on aging filed the Federal NAPIS  
report. This is the National Aging Program's Information System.  
Thanked Dane County staff for working hard to provide accurate data.  
The Federal government shutdown should not a large impact on the  
state, if the shutdown is not a long one. Have funding until March 2026.  
ADRC Operations Manual is being updated. The new chapters for  
review are the Elder Benefit Disability Benefit Specialist programs and  
legal services. Links for the ADRC Operations Manual for review and

meeting.

3. Board Member Status  
Chair FARSETTA advised there are still three openings on the Board.  
4. Chair & Staff Reports  
a. Access Committee Duties Re-assigned  
AAA Manager Lynn Riley discussed the reassignment of duties.  
Some duties will go to the new Advisory Council and others are  
already being done by the AAA by-laws.  
b. Advisory Council and Board Recruitment Strategies  
Riley and AAA Aging Program Specialist Claire Purkis shared the  
advertising and hoping interviews start in March.  
Nutrition Coordinator Shannon Gabriel shared information on Stepping  
up your nutrition class that is only taught twice a year. GABRIEL is the  
only one to teach it and would like to get more trainers to provide more  
than two classes a year.  
PURKIS discussed work being done with case management program  
and updating intake forms. Student Intern Kat Froehlich has been  
assisting with gathering information from case managers.
