Election of Chair and Vice Chair of the UW Extension Committee – Call for motions by  
Supervisor Yang.  
Doolan nominated Yang as Chair. Second by Kroning. No other nominations.  
Motion by Gray to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Yang.  
Second by Kroning. Motion carried by voice vote 7-0.  
Yang nominated Doolan as Vice Chair. Second by Kroning. No other nominations  
Motion by Kroning to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Doolan.  
Second by Rylander. Motion carried by voice vote 7-0.  
E. Discussion Items  
2024/2025 Meeting schedule  
The committee will meet on the 4th Monday of each month at 5:00 pm. This day will  
overlap with P&F committee on some months so may be adjusted as needed. The next  
meeting will be July 22.  
F. Reports  
Financial Education program report and VITA overview - Clare Dahl, Finance and Life  
Span Educator provided an end of season report on the VITA site and an overview of her  
programming efforts and partnerships.  
Food Systems program report – Jess Guffey Calkins, Food Systems Educator provided  
an overview of her work in food systems including policy and planning, entrepreneurship,  
food justice and sustainability.

Director Report – Carrie Edgar provided an update on staff and programming. Summer  
programs are in full swing. Dane County 4-Hers will be exhibiting their projects at the Fair  
on July 18-21 and then many will head to 4-H camp. Edgar also shared the May program  
summary report which highlighted two impact reports, one on the VITA site and the other  
covered On-Farm Research projects. Supervisor Yang suggested that members let us  
know if they are interested in assisting with the interviews or would like to be a mentor.
