2026 Nutrition/Wellness Committee Description

A motion was made by DOWNING, seconded by WEGLEITNER, to amend the
Nutrition/Wellness Committee Description #5 to state, “Review specific State
Senior Nutrition Program policies needing local determinations.” The motion
carried by a voice vote.
b. Review and Approve Advisory Council application process and recruitment timeline
i. Approve who will review applications and bring forward recommendations
Long discussion to make sure everyone knew the
process.
Motion by WEIGLITNER, seconded by PAN, to approve Kat Froehlich, Claire
Purkis, Lynn Riley, Ted Bunck, Barbara Boustead and Natalie Raemisch to move
forward with interviews and recruitment timeline. Voice vote carried.
ii. Approve first meeting of Advisory Council April 29th, with pending appointment
approvals to be done at May 4, 2026 Board meeting
Concerns of the council meeting before the appointment approvals are
done.
A motion was made by DOWNING, seconded by WURF, to approve May 4th
appointment of Advisory Council members. First meeting determined on the
availability of everyone to meet after May 4th. The motion carried unanimously.
E. Reports to Board
1. State and Federal Report (Langer)
LANGER, WI BADR, DHS received OAA award last week. State fiscal
working on getting contracts out as soon as possible. DHS launching a
new Brain Health link, dhs.wisconsin.gov/brain-health/index.htm. State is
hosting a three day training in September in Wisconsin Dells around
dementia and other Aging and Disability Networks. Thank you to Dane
County AAA staff for data input into the state’s new program called
PeerPlace. This data is then shared with the federal government for Older
American Adults funding.
