D. Presentations  
Janes Ugoretz provided an overview of her programming efforts over the past year  
including the Organic Vegetable Production Conference (OVPC), Becoming the  
Employee of the Choice (BTEC), Training & Education for Aspiring Managers (TEAMS),  
and Free School for Farmworkers sessions.

E. Reports to Committee  
YGP representative Report – Arya Sengelmann  
Arya provided an update on the YGP group project, Take over the Zoo event scheduled  
for May 28th from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm.

Director Report – Carrie Edgar  
Edgar provided an update on staffing and funding. The Department will complete an  
Administrative Review for the IRS grant that funds the VITA site on Wednesday of this  
week. Will Fulwider, Crops & Soils Educator, has been awarded a 2 year SARE grant for  
cover crop work. Sarah Janes Ugoretz continues to work on a variety of grant and  
contract funded projects. The VITA site appointments have all been booked at this point.  
Callers will be encouraged to contact one of the other free sites. There are four  
departments (LWRD, Executive, Library, and the Zoo) participating in the summer Career  
Pathways program internship program. There is funding for 7 positions across these  
departments and to date, 17 applications have been received. The application period  
closes on March 31. The monthly program summary was shared with all committee  
members.

F. Announcements/Discussion  
Next meeting – April 28, 2025 at 5 pm - BYFY Awards Ceremony invite  
Edgar shared that the BYFY Awards Ceremony will be happening here at Fen Oak during  
the same time as this meeting. The County Executive, Madison Mayor, and others will be  
speaking at the event and the youth will present the grant awards. The committee  
decided to meet briefly if there are any action items and then attend the awards  
ceremony.
