Chair FARSETTA called the meeting to order at 3:45 pm.

Helen Pan joined at 3:47 pm.  
A motion was made by WERNER, seconded by DOWNING, that the minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.  
C. Action Items  
1. Recommendation to appoint Amy Wurf to the Legislative/Advocacy Committee.  
A motion was made by WERNER, seconded by WEGLEITNER, to approve  
appointment of Amy Wurf to the AAA Legislative/Advocacy Committee. The  
motion carried unanimously.  
2. Recommendation to reschedule or cancel September 8th Board meeting.  
WEGLIETNER suggested attending the budget meetings for Health and Human  
Services Committee and County Board in place of a September 8th meeting.  
A motion was made by WERNER, seconded by WEGLEITNER, to approve  
canceling the September 8th meeting.. The motion carried unanimously.  
D. Presentations

E. Reports to Board  
1. State and Federal Report (Langer)  
Laura Langer of the WI Bureau of Aging and Disability  
Resources (BADR) reported the State’s Aging Plan has  
been completed and filed. Senior Services Employment  
training division will be transitioning to the Department of  
Workforce Development. Lynn Gall of WI BADR has  
completed updating the DHS website for caregiving  
services.

3. Board Member Status  
There are currently three openings on the AAA Board. VELASQUEZ stated  
Dane County Ordinance 15.18 states AAA Board only needs to have nine  
members which would mean having to fill only one more position. VELASQUEZ  
suggested board members discuss to move to nine or stay at 11 where the  
board has been for years. Downing asked where we were short representation  
and the discussion led us to NW and NE Dane Areas.  
4. Chair & Staff Reports  
-EBS legal services changes for 2026  
Division Administrator Angela Velasquez updated members on changes coming  
to the Elder Benefit Specialist (EBS) Program in 2026. Legal (Attorney)  
Representation will no longer be provided through a State contract between the  
Office on Aging and the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources  
(GWAAR). As such, Dane County will be joining with GWAAR on the release of  
a Request for Proposals for attorney services in 2026. When the legal provider  
is selected and changes impacting the operational aspects of the EBS Program  
are known, AAA staff will present this information to the AAA Board.

A motion was made by WERNER, seconded by DOWNING, that the meeting be  
adjourned at 4:24 pm. The motion carried unanimously.
