PulsePoint Verified Responder Expansion  
Dr. Kronenfeld briefed the Commission on the Verified Responder program. Meier added  
additonal data to assist with understanding the cardiac arrests that this expansion could  
assist. The Commission was supportive of moving forward with a joint letter of support  
from the Dane County EMS Association to The County Executive. Motion by Gussick,  
Seconded by McCarville, motion carried.  
This resolution was recommended for approval  
D. Presentations  
2022 Budget - Medical Advisors  
Meier detailed the plan for moving to three medical advisors in 2022 in place of one  
medical director. This was a decision made based on the needs of the EMS Community  
as they have evolved to having more clear medical direction locally and the lessons  
learned over the past few years. The RFP is currently open and the three will be decided  
prior to the end of the year.  
Madison Fire CARES Program - Update  
Chief Stedman from Madison Fire gave an update on the CARES program. Discussion  
and questions were answered.  
Protocol Update 2022-2024  
Dr. Kronenfeld briefed the Commission on the excellent progress of the Regional 2022  
protocol update. Hopeful to have them approved by the State and trained on for a March  
1st go live date.  
Active Shooter Incident Management (ASIM) Training Update  
Meier updated the Commission on the Public Private partnership with American Family to  
bring in a Train the Trainer course on Active Threat Incident Management for our Fire,  
EMS and Law Enforcement partners. We trained 120 providers in the basic course and  
now have 20 local instructors to assist with moving this training forward throughout Dane  
County.

Special Thanks and Congratulations was giving to Captain Jen Roman with the Madison  
Fire Department and Instructor with Madison College who is retiring in January. Jen has  
been instrumental in teaching likely every EMT in Dane County at some point in her  
career and supporting collaboration countywide. Best wishes to Jen.
