C. Tree Board Operating Agreement

D. Project & General Updates

1. Bock Foundation Grant

Not heard back yet regarding the Tree Board application, no update

2. Parks and Open Space Plan Comments by August 1st

Reminder to get comments to NOONE by Aug 1, RITT submitted a question about

using Google sheets for a group working space to house, organize and curate the

comments.

E. Discussion Item

1. Review/Add/Edit Dane County Tree Policy Resolution ingredients for forwarding on at

the conclusion of the meeting.

BRODBECK needs Alves’ input for this. BRODBECK will meet with Wahl and Alves to

generate ideas for the resolution. Board reviewed Goals of the Tree board for

possible inclusion in ordinance.

3. Discuss/consider DCTB's organizational structure.

(postponed for lack of time to August meeting)

F. Action Items

1. Additional TB purchases (place holder)

Motion by WEISS to spend funds for tree seedlings from DNR for public giveaways not

to exceed $600. Seconded by RICH. Motion passed by voice vote.

2. Authorization to spend the remainder of the budget on OFS Tree Crib construction

and tree growing supplies (soil/pots…)

Cribs already at public schools Schenk, Nuestro Mundo, etc. Motion by ERKER to

spend remainder of the Tree Board budget for 2024 (minus the $600 for tree seedlings),

for tree cribs built by OFS at Dane County public schools. Seconded by BOSCI. Motion

passed by voice vote.
