Chair Thoresen called the Park Commission meeting to order at 5:30 PM.

B. Consideration of Minutes  
Minutes of the January 8, 2025 Park Commission  
A motion was made by EICHER that the Minutes be approved. The motion carried  
by a voice vote 7-0, YGP 1-0.  
C. Referrals (Resolutions & Ordinance Amendments)  
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL FISH AND  
WILDLIFE FOUNDATION

A motion was made by EICHER, seconded by BROUWER, that Sub. 1 to 2024  
RES-286, which Requires 2/3rds Vote, be recommended for approval. The motion  
carried by a voice vote 7-0, YGP 1-0.  
D. Items Requiring Committee Action  
1. Conservation Fund Grant Application from The Prairie Enthusiasts for the Uren Trust  
parcel in the Town of Blue Mounds - Erbe Grasslands  
The Prairie Enthusiasts U’ren Addition Presentation  
It was agreed by unanimous consent to direct staff to prepare a resolution to  
award a Dane County Conservation Fund Grant to The Prairie Enthusiasts' for  
up to 50% of the acquisition costs, approximately $395,000, to acquire a 77  
acre property from the Uren Trust in the Town of Blue Mounds.  
E. Presentations  
1. Proposed Expansion of Multi-use Trails at Donald County Park  
Lindsay Koehnke presented the project overview and public input process of a proposed  
expansion of multi-use trails at Donald County Park. She shared a summary of  
comments received. Staff recommends moving forward with the proposed multi-use trail  
expansion.

Jean Warrior, Friends of Donald Park Board Member, spoke in support of the expansion  
of multi-use trails at Donald County Park.

Park Commissioners agree that it is in the best interest of Dane County Parks  
to expand the multi-use trails at Donald County Park as presented.
