The October 1, 2025 Youth Commission meeting will be conducted in hybrid fashion. Members of the  
public can either attend in person or virtually via Zoom.  
The public can attend in person in Room 354 of the City County Building.  
The public can access the meeting virtually with the Zoom application or by telephone.

PROCESS TO PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT:  
IN PERSON: Any members of the public wishing to register to speak on/support/oppose an agenda item  
can register in person at the meeting using paper registration forms. IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO  
REGISTER VIA THE ZOOM LINK ABOVE EVEN IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING IN PERSON.  
In person registrations to provide public comment will be accepted throughout the meeting.  
VIRTUAL: Any members of the public wishing to register to speak on/support/oppose an agenda item  
MUST REGISTER USING THE LINK ABOVE (even if you plan to attend using your phone). Virtual

MINUTES FROM AUGUST 20, 2025  
A motion was made by BENEDICT, seconded by FRIES, that the Minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote 7-0.

D. Discussion Items  
1. Review Dane County Youth Assessment Data Across Demographic Groups Related  
to Guns and School Safety (Benson)  
Benson will review additional areas of interest and present updated slides at the next  
meeting.

Benedict reported back from the Dane County Madison Public Health Meeting  
on Violence Prevention on 9/10.  
Tubbs will contact Focused Interruption and invite them to present at a future  
Youth Commission meeting.

3. Dissemination of DCYA Data in the Community  
Reviewed Budget for 2019 Voice of Our Youth Conference.  
Discussion of dissemination of DCYA data around gun violence and violence  
prevention to participating school districts including an overview of all survey data.  
Discussion of dissemination methods including: creating a video, drafting a one-page  
brief, drafting a press release, reaching out to radio stations, local news. Outreach to  
DCDHS Communications Team for support.  
Discussion of sharing out DCYA data slides with schools with the ask for them to  
create materials and disseminate within schools.  
Youth Commission members will review data between now and next meeting and  
identify important information/highlights.  
4. Health & Human Needs Committee Meeting on November 13th at 5:30pm  
Benson and Kata will attend and present DCYA slides.

Next Meeting: Erickson will send poll to Commission members to identify December  
meeting date.

A motion was made by BENEDICT, seconded by MASCIOPINTO, that the Meeting  
be adjourned. The motion carried by a voice vote 9-0 and the meeting adjourned  
at 6:33 p.m.
