A. Call To Order  
Others present: Ronda Schwetz, Joseph Darcangelo, Lauren Salzmann, Kristin Moala,  
and Amanda Pedersen.  
A motion was made that the Zoo Commission meeting be called to order at  
8:05am..

B. Consideration of Minutes

A motion was made by JUSTUS, seconded by GUNDERSON that the Minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.

HVZ VOLUNTEER UPDATE

Lauren Salzmann gave a presentation on the volunteer program.  
E. Reports to Committee  
Ronda gave a zoo report:  
Animal update: new set of meerkats were born, Kaiser Mountain Newts hatched, Cape  
Porcupine quarantine finished and moving to Green Barn, male Orangutan playing with  
baby. Bio-security reassurance given in regard to bird flu.  
Giraffe project 95% and cost estimate received around $16,000,000. Penguin exhibit  
progressing. Marketing proposals requested from three vendors, all local. Zoo light  
vendor up for bid. Bid is good for five years.  
Education department got grant. New lead keeper started last week. The next CLR  
meeting is March 11.

The next meeting will take place March 11, 2025 at 8:00AM.

I. Adjourn  
A motion was made by EVERS, seconded by JUSTUS, that the Zoo Commission  
meeting be adjourned at 9:08am. The motion carried unanimously.
