The Wednesday April 22, 2026 AAA Legislative/Advocacy Committee meeting will be a Hybrid meeting.  
The public can attend in person at the ADRC building, 2865 N Sherman Ave Room 109, Madison.

Minutes from February 25, 2026  
A motion was made by CASTANEDA, seconded by WURF, that the minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.

b. County/State/Federal Legislative Update  
FOX stated housing bills are top on the list for Federal Legislation.  
More funding for state and local SNAP benefits passed and will start  
in the new Legislative session.  
c. State's Aging Advisory Council  
Nothing to update.  
d. US Aging Legislative Update  
Lynn Riley, AAA Manager, stated US Aging is working on planning  
the yearly conference in San Diego.  
e. Wisconsin Aging Advocacy Network  
i. GWAAR-Advocacy Update 4/10/26  
Emily Peterson will be replacing Janet Zander.  
GWAAR Updates  
ii. Update since that report: AB182, AB194 and AB968 were signed by Governor  
Evers on 4/8/26  
f. Chair & Staff Reports  
i. You are invited: In-District Legislative Informational Session: June 17th  
In-District Legislative Informational Session: June 17th  
WAAN is advocating for increase in funding of HDM,  
ADRC funding and Falls Prevention. Dane County added  
Transportation as an advocacy need.  
ii. Advisory Council  
iii. Staff Update  
RILEY and BUNCK stated that there is a great group of  
people for the Advisory Council. Hoping to recruit some of  
them for the AAA Board.  
RILEY stated that AAA Registered Dietitian/Nutrition  
Coordinator Shannon Gabriel was no longer with AAA.  
Seven applicants applied for the position with interviews to  
come soon.

Next meeting: Wednesday June 24, 2026 at 9am via Hybrid.

A motion was made by BUNCK, seconded by WURF, that the meeting be  
adjourned at 9:21am. The motion carried unanimously.
