B. Consideration of Minutes  
PP&J MINUTES OF OCTOBER 8, 2024  
A motion was made by COLLINS that the Minutes be approved. The motion  
carried by a voice vote. 5-0  
C. Referrals (Resolutions & Ordinance Amendments)  
ACCEPTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS  
(HMEP) GRANT DANE COUNTY CORE & SPECIALIZED HAZMAT TRAINING  
McCARVILLE, ENGELBERGER and PETERSON  
Sponsors:  
Tubbs and Pintarro presented. A motion was made by PETERSON that the  
Resolution Requiring 2/3rds Vote be recommended for approval. The motion  
carried by a voice vote. 5-0; YGP: 1-0  
AUTHORIZING WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE GRANT FUNDING  
FOR A SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS PROJECT

A motion was made by PETERSON that the Resolution Requiring 2/3rds Vote be  
recommended for approval. The motion carried by a voice vote. 5-0; YGP: 1-0  
D. Discussion  
Committee members discussed the 2024 budget process. Supervisor Weigand raised  
concerns about the truncated schedule of the budget process, and the difficulty with the  
availability of the staff. Supervisor Collins and Supervisor Peterson stated that the  
budget process was not intuitive and there were issues with the amendment drafting.  
Discussion ensued about how to improve public engagement in the budget process.

Chair Andrae informed the committee that the Deferred Prosecution Program will present  
at a subsequent meeting, and commissions and boards under the purview of PP&J will  
also present to the committee.
