D. Presentations  
1. Friends of Badger Mill Creek Environmental Corridor  
The Friends of Badger Mill Creek Environmental Corridor is a relatively new organization  
that was founded due to a Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) underground  
wastewater main expansion throughout the creek corridor. Volunteers are working on  
several land restoration projects on both Dane County Parkland and City of Verona  
Parkland. The Friends focus their restoration efforts on the corridor between the Verona  
Park and Ride and Verona's Fireman's Park. As their capacity grows, they may expand  
the work area towards Goose Lake. The Friends' second focus is advocacy. They do not  
support MMSD's decision to discontinue effluent discharge into Badger Mill Creek and  
are advocating to maintain the discharge to keep Badger Mill Creek's water at it's current  
level.

2. Proposed 2025 Fee Changes for Dane County Parks & Heritage Center Programs  
The proposed fee changes were discussed one by one to solicit initial feedback before  
posting to the website and sending a press release advertising the public hearing on  
Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The proposed fee changes received support and  
majority consensus from Commissioners.

Chair Tom Thoresen opened the floor for Park Commission officer nominations.  
Stefanie Brouwer nominated Tom Thoresen for Chair. There were no other nominations.  
There were no objections to close nominations and appoint Tom Thoresen as Chair.  
Tom Thoresen nominated Stefanie Brouwer for Vice Chair. There were no other  
nominations. There were no objections to close nominations and appoint Stefanie  
Brouwer as Vice Chair.  
Stefanie Brouwer nominated Kristie GoForth for Second Vice Chair. There were no other  
nominations. There were no objections to close nominations and appoint Kristie GoForth  
as Second Vice Chair.
