A. Call To Order  
The meeting was called to order by Clerk McDonell at 10 am. Commissioners  
Willett, Arntsen, and McDonell were present.  
B. Consideration of Minutes  
April 13, 2026 Board of Canvasser - Minutes  
Attachments:  
A motion was made by WILLETT, second by MCDONELL that the Minutes be  
approved. WILLETT and MCDONELL voted Aye. ARNTSEN abstained.  
April 14, 2026 Board of Canvasser - Minutes  
Attachments:  
A motion was made by WILLETT, second by MCDONELL that the Minutes be  
approved with the addition of listing the names of the commissioners present.  
WILLETT and MCDONELL voted Aye. ARNTSEN abstained.

There was no motion to go into closed session.

Moved by ARNTSEN, second by MCDONELL to appeal the Wisconsin Election  
Commission decision to Circuit Court. Motion passed: ARNTSEN, MCDONELL

Wis. Stat §19.85(1)(g) - The Board of Canvassers may confer in closed session with legal counsel for  
the Board who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the Board with  
the respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved.

1. Reconvening as per WEC letter dated April 30, 2026 to correct actions and decisions as outlined in  
Part One, Part Two, and Part Three of the attached order as it relates to the "23" absentee ballots  
counted at City of Madison and Dane County Board of Canvass for the April 7, 2026 Spring Election.  
Return the results to the City of Madison Municipal Board of Canvass for the corrections as consistent  
with the Part One of the attached order.  
Moved by ARNTSEN, second by WILLETT to remand the election results for the  
races of State Supreme Court State Court of Appeals, and Dane County Circuit  
Court to the Madison Municipal Board of Canvass to make corrections as  
directed by the Wisconsin Election Commission April 30 order. The vote was  
unanimous.  
2. Consideration of appealing the WEC order dated April 30, 2026  
*The Board of Canvassers will convene in open session but may move to closed session under Wis.  
Stat. § 19.85(1)(f) and then reconvene into open session prior to adjournment of this meeting. This  
notice is intended to inform the public that this meeting will convene in open session, may move to  
closed session, and then may reconvene in open session. Wis. Stat. § 19.85(2)

A motion was made by WILLETT, second by ARNTSEN that the meeting be  
adjourned. The motion carried unanimously. The Board of Canvass will meet  
again at 4pm.
