MINUTES OF THE MAY 13, 2026, FOOD COUNCIL MEETING

A motion was made by FAERBER, second JANISCH, to approve the minutes. All  
in favor, motion carries (7-0).

This item was moved to later in the meeting - after G. Future Meeting Items  
and Dates. Ethics training. The training was presented to members of the  
committee.

- Dane County Food Action Plan - WARNER, Guffey Calkins  
Food System Action Plan web content will go up in the next month; the full  
document release will follow.  
- Foodshed Partnership Project - FAERBER  
There are new staff engaged in this project, and construction is proceeding  
well. One project enterprise of note is the Midwest Marinara project, which is  
creating marinara sauce in large quantities for institutions using Wisconsin  
ingredients. There will be an August 11 ribbon-cutting event.  
- Wisconsin Food Systems, Inc - CORNELIUS  
Work is continuing around advancing the Super Transport Co-op.  
- Regional Agriculture & Food Sovereignty; Community Gardens - Nicholas
