A. Call To Order  
The meeting was called to order at 1:04pm by Chair Mrowiec.

B. Consideration of Minutes  
FEBRUARY 2026 LEPC MINUTES  
A motion was made by GRANDE (representing Demorett), seconded by TUBBS,  
that the minutes be approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.  
C. Action Items  
Review committee members and changes to committee representatives  
Members currently on the committee agreed to stay on the committee.  
Members who have recently retired, have designated representative attending in  
their place. Those designated members have agreed to remain on the  
committee. Appointments through June 2028 will be sent to the County  
Executive for approval.  
Election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson  
Opened up nominations for Chairperson. Tim Mrowiec was only  
nomination. Tim Mrowiec accepted the nomination and was re-elected as  
Chairperson.  
Opened nominations for Vice Chairperson. Nathan Bubenzer was only  
nomination. Nathan Bubenzer accepted the nomination and was re-elected  
as Vice Chairperson.

Madison Fire HazMat Team Report - Mrowiec  
Madison Fire Hazmat Team responded to six incidents since the February  
meeting. Incidents included one phone consult with Marshall Fire related to  
Mercury, an unidentified liquid at a lab, potassium cyanide found, a diesel spill, a  
Tesla Fire, and an irritant odor.  
EPCRA Report - Pintarro  
HMEP grants are nearing completion and closeout. The Hazmat exercise was  
conducted in Mount Horeb with a good response and attendance. Hot Zone  
training was completed through Madison fire. The Commodity Flow study  
remains in progress with the contractor.  
The pre-application for the Computer and Hazmat Response Equipment Grant  
has been submitted to the state. The NOFO should be out in July and  
coordination with Madison Fire will begin to get the application completed.  
There is a new EPCRA employee at WEM. Darlene has been communicating  
on discrepancies and questions she has come across related to Dane County  
facilities.  
Darlene continues to work through the 46 off-site plans required to be updated  
this year.

The next meeting is scheduled for October 19, 2026 at 1:00pm at the DCEM  
Kapec Office.

Review of team capabilities and tour of vehicle  
Tour of HIT vehicle conducted following adjournment for those present who  
were interested.

A motion was made by GRANDE, seconded by TUBBS, that the Local Emergency  
Planning Committee (LEPC) meeting be adjourned at 1:57pm. The motion carried  
by a voice vote.
