Chair McCARVILLE called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.

A motion was made by BLAZEWICZ, seconded by ENGELBERGER, that the  
minutes from the December 3, 2025 Lakes and Watershed Commission meeting  
be approved. The motion carried by a voice vote 8-0.

1. Update on proposed amendments to Chapter 71: Regulation of Icebound Inland Waters  
Kyle Minks, with Dane County Land & Water Resources Department reported  
that draft ordinance amendment language will be shared with the commission  
at its next meeting. A website will also be created containing the draft language  
along with the ability for the public to submit written comments. The  
commission also discussed holding a future public information meeting to  
receive oral comments on proposed ordinance language.  
2. Discussion on wake enhanced boating  
The commission discussed the presentation and information on wake  
enhanced boating shared at the last meeting.  
A motion was made by FURMAN, seconded by GREB, for staff to start researching  
and developing a process for drafting an ordinance for wake enhanced boating.  
The motion carried by a voice vote 8-0.  
H. Future Meeting Items and Dates  
1. Next Lakes and Watershed Commission meeting is tentatively scheduled for February 4th starting at  
5:30 pm.  
Commission members requested to have a budget discussion at their next  
meeting.

A motion was made by FURMAN, seconded by BLAZEWICZ, that the meeting be  
adjourned. The motion carried unanimously.
