B. Consideration of Minutes
7.26.2022 MINUTES TREEBOARD OUTREACH
Attachments: 2022 MIN-234
A motion was made by WEISS, seconded by WYATT, that the Minutes be
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.
C. Discussion Items
• PSAs:
o WORT:
more flexibility: with regard to time constraints
free of charge so we should look at elevating content in future meetings
o Non-WORT:
Current budget is approx. $1000 for remainder of year
Funds need to be spent by end of November
WYATT proposed that we have one or two PSAs ready to be sure funds are used;
JOHNSON: we have 12 previous topics to select from, all agree that fall watering
is too late; de-icing and pruning oaks seem like the best options; standing dead ash
(better price in winter months) and winter treatment of spongy moth would also work.
WEISS motions to advance two PSAs to elevate by end of November: de-icing
and oak pruning; WYATT seconds. JOHNSON will elevate. Passed unanimously
• Proposed website changes:
o WYATT: interim solution to add topical items to home page where redundant ‘Dane
County Tree Board’ in gray font color is located (not in header)
o WYATT: Change gray font ‘Dane County Tree Board’ to ‘In the News/Get Involved’
o Topics could include Heritage Oaks; Tree Canopy Group; Arbor Day Events; Madison
College courses; Cambridge Tree Project (as model for other communities) etc.
o Matt Noone has heritage oaks content ready; WEISS will reach out to get content and
photo of oak and share with group.
o JOHNSON will work to have content added to website
