B. Consideration of Minutes
MINUTES FROM OCTOBER 19, 2022
A motion was made by BANDREDDI, seconded by WILLIAMS, that the Minutes be
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote 6-0. McGinnity abstained.
C. Discussion Items
1. Brainstorm about Organizations/Groups with which to Conduct Listening Sessions
The Commission discussed examples of organizations and groups that would benifit from
Listening Sessions such as: Centro Hispano, YGP and BYFY youth, Youth centers (in
and outside of Madison) GSAFE, Dane County Juvenile Detention Center, Hmong
Chamber of Commerce. The Commission plans to reach out to initial groups in January
2023.
2. How to Partner with Organizations Working on Getting Out the Vote
The Commission discussed plans to partner with non-partisan groups in an effort to get
out the vote and voter registration efforts. Specifically around registering young voters to
vote in the primary in February and the election in April.
3. Voices of Our Youth Summit
The Dane County Youth Commission discussed sponsoring Voices of Our Youth
Summit, it would make the most sense to have the event in late 2024, after the release
of the 2024 Dane County Youth Assessment results. In the meantime, the Commission
will explore other conferences/Summits as well.
