1. Dane County - Past Resolutions and Reports  
Discussion among committee members regarding review of past resolutions and  
reports to determine how to proceed. Next meeting, committee can delineate  
recommendations, determine what they have jurisdiction over, and what issues can be  
addressed given funding and time restrictions. Discussion regarding scope of  
committee and its action. Discussion regarding interest in receiving presentations on  
different initiatives from relevant departments and organizations.  
Discussion of potential areas to investigate further, including: expansion of Community  
Restorative Court (CRC), expansion of Community Alternative Response Emergency  
Services (CARES), creation of Crisis Triage Center, more detailed interpretation  
guidance on the data dashboards, weekend initial appearance, diversion programs, and  
addressing the lack of public defenders.  
Ongoing discussion regarding utilizing best practices and prior reports to determine  
what initiatives the committee should consider further. Committee members can  
workshop with staff between meetings to connect with experts on topics of interest.
