The Monday, March 4, 2024 AAA Board meeting will be a hybrid meeting. Members of the public can  
either attend in person or virtually via Zoom.  
The public can attend in person at the ADRC building, 2865 N Sherman Ave Room 109, Madison.  
The public can access the meeting virtually with the Zoom application or by telephone.

AAA Board Minutes from January 8, 2024  
A motion was made by WERNER, seconded by RATCLIFF, that the Minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote (6-0).

D. Discussion  
1. 2025-27 AAA Aging Plan/Advisory Council-Intentional and Inclusive Community  
Engagement and Outreach/Board Members role  
AAA Manager Sridevi Mohan and Program Specialist Claire Purkis provided an overview  
of efforts to widen the outreach for the 2025-2027 Dane County Aging Plan and answered  
committee members' questions. Mohan stressed the important role the AAA Board and  
Committee members can play in creating a successful plan.  
E. Reports to Board  
1. State and Federal Report (Langer)  
Laura Langer of the Bureau of Aging and Disability Resources (BADR) reported that the  
Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR) has opted not to renew its  
contract as the sub-grantee for the Senior Community Services Employment Program  
(SCCEP). A Request For Applications has been distributed and applications are due by  
March 25.  
Applications for two grants, one regarding social isolation and loneliness and the other  
regarding livable communities, have not yet been completed. Helen Sampson, the former  
manager of the Aging & Disability Resource Center in Kenosha County, recently joined  
BADR will be executing the grants. Langer shared Sampson's contact info.  
The 2024 Aging, Disability and Independent Living Network Conference will be held April  
23-25 in La Crosse.  
2. Board Member Updates  
a. AAA Access Committee (Farsetta, McGinnity)  
AAA Access Committee Minutes from January 8, 2024  
Chair Farsetta reported the Access Committee met prior to this meeting and received a  
presentation from Adult Protective Services Victim Advocate Amy Scarr. A vote to  
approve the Committee Description was delayed until the May meeting.

b. AAA Legislative/Advocacy Committee  
AAA Legislative/Advocacy Minutes Feb 28, 2024  
Farsetta reported that during its February meeting the Legislative Advocacy Committee  
identified housing, voting and transportation as its top priorities for 2024. The Committee  
is requesting experts on housing and transportation to present at future meetings. The  
Committee also has been discussing ways to increase outreach regarding the 2025-27  
Dane County Aging Plan.

c. AAA Nutrition/Wellness Committee (Werner)  
AAA Nutrition/Wellness Committee Minutes  
Farsetta reported the committee in February approved recommending the revised Senior  
Nutrition Program Staff and Volunteer Meal Policy rules that this body approved earlier in  
the meeting. In addition, the committee was briefed on the strong utilization of the  
Farmers Market Vouchers in 2023.

d. Dane County Health & Human Needs Committee (Palm)

Farsetta reported that HHN discussed the department's bid waivers at its most recent  
meeting and mentioned the waivers that impacted seniors.

e. Dane County Specialized Transportation Commission  
Specialized Transportation Commission Minutes  
Farsetta reported the commission received a presentation on NewBridge's diversity and  
inclusion programming, was briefed about the Transportation Call Center's work, and  
received a presentation from the Greater Madison Metropolitan Planning Organization  
about a draft survey to identify local resources during the most recent meeting.

3. Board Member Status  
Farsetta noted that Supervisors McGinnity and Ratcliff are attending their last meeting as  
members of the AAA Board and thanked them for their service. AAA Manager Sridevi  
Mohan stated that in addition to the open seats on the AAA Board, all three AAA  
committees also have openings and asked members to alert her if they know of potential  
candidates.  
4. Chair & Staff Updates  
a. Topics for future presentations (AAA programs and services, Community grants)  
Mohan solicited ideas for future presentations that could inform the AAA Board's work.  
The Transportation Call Center, Demographics of Aging in Dane County, the Housing  
Access & Affordability Division, Older Adults in the Workforce and Ageism were among  
the suggestions offered.  
b. Aging Advocacy Day  
2024 Advocacy Day  
Mohan reported the Wisconsin Aging Advocacy Network (WAAN) will hold its eighth  
annual Aging Advocacy Day in Madison on May 14. The free event provides attendees  
advocacy training and the opportunity to meet with other constituents from their Senate  
and Assembly district, and for office visits with their legislators.  
c. WI AHEC Internship  
Mohan reported AAA will have the services of two full-time interns for two months this  
summer. The interns will assist AAA staff in working on the 2025-2027 Dane County  
Aging Plan.
