The Wednesday March 27, 2024 AAA Legislative/Advocacy Committee meeting will be a hybrid meeting.  
Members of the public can either attend in person or virtually via Zoom.  
The public can attend in person at the ADRC building, 2865 N Sherman Ave Room 109, Madison.  
The public can access the meeting virtually with the Zoom application or by telephone.

can register in person at the meeting using paper registration forms. IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO

In person registrations to provide public comment will be accepted throughout the meeting.

AAA Legislative/Advocacy Minutes from February 28, 2024  
A motion was made by LEZOTTE, seconded by BUNCK, that the minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.

No action taken.  
D. Discussion Items  
1. Aging Advocacy Day, May 14, 2024  
OLSON working with Carrie Springer to help set up In-District Representative meetings  
after advocacy day.  
Still need volunteers to help with set up and guides. Register and sign up for volunteer  
areas you are interested in.  
E. Reports to Committee  
1. Wisconsin Senior Advocates  
Working on Aging Advocacy Day items.  
2. ADRC Governing Board  
No Aging topics discussed.  
3. County/State/Federal Legislative Update  
New bill about hospital’s being able to decide where patients will be transferred too was  
introduced just before a meeting. No action taken by the Senate on the bill. This will  
come up again in the fall when Federal Legislation picks up again.  
4. State's Aging Advisory Council  
Discussion on voting and what is being done locally with voting concerns.  
5. Wisconsin Aging Advocacy Network  
Aging Advocacy Day 2024--Registration Now Open!  
2024 Advocacy Day  
Are you interested in speaking out on issues affecting older adults and family  
caregivers? On May 14, 2024, join members of the Wisconsin Aging Advocacy Network  
(WAAN), aging network professionals, older adults, and family caregivers at an  
in-person Aging Advocacy Day (AAD) 2024 event in Madison to “tell your story” and  
help educate your state Senator and Assembly Representative and/or their staff about  
issues impacting Wisconsin’s aging population. Your voice matters!  
Registration closes on April 29, 2024.  
Mark your calendar: Pre-Advocacy Day Virtual Training  
Tuesday, May 7, 2024 | 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.  
The virtual training is not required to attend Aging Advocacy Day, but is recommended.  
To help attendees prepare for legislative visits, the Wisconsin Aging Advocacy Network  
is hosting a virtual information session with a brief overview of this year’s issues and  
talking points. Those unable to attend Aging Advocacy Day in-person are also welcome  
to attend the virtual event and are encouraged to contact their state legislators  
independently or as part of a local, in-district meeting.
