B. Consideration of Minutes
This was approved
October MAS Minutes
November 12th Notes
C. Discussion Items
Infection Control Resource Book
Lohmeier reported to the committee that he has been working to bring the infection
control manual back into discussion. He plans to email the book out to the committee
to take back to their leads to weigh in. Hospital input is vital to improving standardized
operations when public safety experience an exposure.
10 Delta Auto ALS Discussion
Meier reported that there was a request to evaluate the 10 delta auto ALS codes to
determine if ALS is consistently needed. When these codes were initially established
many agencies that are now Advanced were basic and the paramedic skills may not be
needed consistently. Meier will pull more data on these codes and will ask agencies to
also come back to the committee next month prepared to discuss their agency
observations.
Coverdell Stroke Certification
Meier reported the opportunity for Dane County EMS agencies to submit and apply for the
coverdell stroke program within Wisconsin Division of Public Health. The agreement
assures that stroke protocols are in place and stroke centers identified. In return the
state utilizes data and returns that data to EMS agencies for quality assurance. The
committee was in agreement that we should encourage EMS agencies to apply.
Meier will draft a letter
OD Map update
Meier reports that Public Health was able to secure a grant to install OD map with
Imagetrend Elite to monitor overdose situations in real time. This will allow Public
Health and Public Safety to monitor trends in real time. Unfortunately the grant was
requested based on a quote from Imagetrend and Imagetrend now reports that this
interface is not ready. Public health is planning to reach out to the State to discuss
further options. The committee felt asking our providers to use the app directly thru
smart technology might be difficult and it would be best to have this be automatic
through our patient care reporting.
Primary Impression Data Elements
Meier discussed the suggestion by the ALS consortium Medical Directors to decrease
the list of primary impressions for end users to improve quality assurance and accurate
documentation. Discussion included looking at which haven't been used and whether
they could be better grouped by protocols. Meier will work with the Elite workgroup
composed of all levels of EMS providers and bring their recommendation back to the
committee for input.

County EMS. The committte wished him well in retirement.
Kronenfeld updated the group of discussion happening at a national level to change the
