AAA Manager Cheryl Batterman shared videos showing examples of ageism and led a  
discussion with Committee members.

BATTERMAN summarized the reports and noted the concerns indicated by the Focal  
Point case managers were similar to those reported in the second quarter report.

BATTERMAN updated the timeline and summarized feedback that has been received  
addressing the proposed goals. There will be a Public Hearing on December 14, 2021 at  
noon for public input to the draft Aging Plan, which will be posted on the AAA website.  
Committee members were encouraged to attend the Public Hearing.  
4. Chair & Staff Reports  
BATTERMAN shared end-of-year SAMS data and error entries were made by Aging  
Program Specialist Angela Velasquez and AAA Clerk III Cindy Matulle. All programs  
funded with Older Americans Act monies are required to report client demographics and  
usage. This data is used to advocate for additional funding at the state and federal  
levels.

H. Such Other Business as Allowed by Law  
BATTERMAN expressed gratitude to Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC)  
staff for all of the work that has been done to support older adults. In particular, PHMDC  
Epidemiologist and AAA Access Committee member Sri Mohan has been an  
outstanding resource for BATTERMAN to ask questions about COVID-19 changes and  
ensuring the correct information was being shared to the Dane County Aging Network.  
Dane County has the best numbers in the state for low COVID transmissions and are  
leading the way in getting people vaccinated along with booster shots. She encouraged  
Committee members to also share their appreciation and will email ways to do this via  
email, website, or snail mail.
