C. Discussion Items
Protocol Update
Meier updated the group on the timeline for the update. March we will host meetings with
Chiefs. April we will be sending out a survey to providers and also offering town hall
opportunities for input. Beginning in May we will bring a workgroup together to discuss
updates and additions. For those interested in being a part of the workgroup please
contact Meier. The ultimate goal is a standard countywide protocol set.
Radio Reports
Meier updated that the hospitals and the office will be working on training for EMS and
hospital staff to work on improved communication to hopefully alleviate the concerns with
multiple reports being relayed at the same time.
Benzodiazepines Protocol Update
Dr. Gussick reported out that the update will allow for Midaz or Loraz. Just allows either
to be used. No concerns were raised. Meier will send to Ela at the State
Subcommittee Structure
Dr. Kronenfeld updated the group that we met with the Chair of the Commission to
discuss input regarding subcommittee structure. We also had representation from
County Corp Counsel to assist with expectations based on ordinance. More information
and ideas will be shared at the Commission meeting on March 24th. All are welcome.
D. Presentations
E. Reports to Committee
Dr. Kim offered up discussion regarding EMS-C and their role in training and education.
Dr. Kim also offered his assistance with CQI and protocols.
Anderson gave a brief update on the 10 Delta study, more to come in late April.
Lohmeier inquired about EMS Week plans. Lehmann is working with the EMS Liaisons
on a plan. Meier asked the committee to save the date of October 16th for the Survivor
Breakfast pending ability to host an event this size.
Anderson briefly shared his annual summary on HPCPR. He plans to present this in
depth at the EMS Association meeting on March 24th and then distribute with the
CARES summaries once they are complete.
