A motion was made by RICHARDS, seconded by NENNIG, that the Minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote 5-0.  
C. Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda  
Chair Warner postponed this item since the public registrant hasn’t yet joined the  
meeting.  
D. Reports to Committee  
- 2022 Budget requests  
Current budget items are being included.  
- DCFC and DCFC-MFPC joint meetings format  
A discussion was held around ideas for adjusting the content, structure, and/or frequency  
of meeting jointly with MFPC in order to have sufficient time and capacity to address  
county needs.  
- 2022 PIE Food Project grant review committee  
Information about this will be emailed to DCFC members, and will be discussed at the  
10/20 meeting.  
- Save the Farm  
No update  
- Equity check-in  
There is an interest in strengthening this council’s connecting with the Office of Equity &  
Inclusion (OEI). OEI will be invited to join a DCFC meeting to share and discuss ideas.  
There was a discussion around fostering a connection between Silverwood County Park  
and Anderson Farm County Park; both of these sites include agricultural projects on  
county park land.

October 20, 5:30pm – virtual joint food council meeting with presentation from Capital  
Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC)  
C. Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda  
Mattie Reese, from Waunakee, shared information about her organization – Connecting  
the Dots – which focuses on teaching urban and diverse youth how to grow food. They  
applied for, but did not receive, a PIE grant, and they are seeking funding to move their  
work forward.

A motion was made by THAKKAR, seconded by RICHARDS, that the meeting be  
adjourned. The motion carried unanimously 5-0.
