RESOLUTION 68747: AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SOLICIT FUNDS FOR
THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVEMENTS AND SERVICES TO THE
TEMPORARY CAMPGROUND AT 3202 DAIRY DRIVE AND TO ESTABLISH
AND OPERATE A PERMANENT MEN'S SHELTER
Mary Bottari (Chief of Staff – Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, Madison) presented
on City soliciting private donations and the ordinances governing them. She
spoke about anticipated needs at Dairy Drive and the permanent men’s shelter.
Goal is eventually to have a long term fund to serve as an endowment and
privately managed fund.
Committee asked questions and discussed.
A motion was made by Benford and seconded by Doolan with recommendation
to adopt action item as presented. Committee discussed. Motion passed
unanimously.
2022 CITY COUNTY HOMELESS ISSUES COMMITTEE WORK PLAN
Sarah Lim from the City of Madison Community Development Division presented
the 2022 Committee Work Plan including topics discussed at the last meeting and
a calendar draft of presenters. Staff answered committee members’ questions.
Committee members requested an additional item to be added.
A motion was made by Williams and seconded by Figeuroa-Cole with
recommendation to adopt action item as presented with additional suggestion.
Committee asked questions of staff and discussed.
Motion passed unanimously.

MEN'S SHELTER UPDATES
Sarah Lim provided update on finding location for men’s shelter and City of Madison’s
next steps on the purchases of building.
COVID-19 RESPONSE UPDATES
Kristina Dux provided updates on congregate shelters and recent outbreak of COVID-19,
vulnerable population hotel, medical respite center, and other shelter utilization.
Committee members asked questions and discussed.
CITY OF MADISON STATEMENT OF INTEREST COMPLETION REMINDER
City staff reminded the City appointed members to complete the Statement of Interest.
