1. Gateway to The Driftless Partnership Request  
Ripp spoke in support of a formal agreement with the Gateway to The Driftless. He asked  
to draft a MOU to be shared with staff and the Commission. Staff spoke against a formal  
MOU agreement but noted that the Wisconsin River Bridge, the Wolf Run/Great Sauk  
Trail and the Black Earth Creek Trail are identified in the POSP and Dane County Parks  
is committed to continuing to plan and develop these trails, as we are committed to all  
the shared-use trails across the county. Commissioners spoke against a formal MOU  
agreement, questioned the Commission’s authority to enter into any agreements, and  
directed staff to respond to Gateway to the Driftless with a letter.
