LWRD Outreach Updates and Equity and Inclusion Plan Presentation
G. Reports to Committee
1. Gateway to The Driftless Partnership Request
Ripp spoke in support of a formal agreement with the Gateway to The Driftless. He asked
to draft a MOU to be shared with staff and the Commission. Staff spoke against a formal
MOU agreement but noted that the Wisconsin River Bridge, the Wolf Run/Great Sauk
Trail and the Black Earth Creek Trail are identified in the POSP and Dane County Parks
is committed to continuing to plan and develop these trails, as we are committed to all
the shared-use trails across the county. Commissioners spoke against a formal MOU
agreement, questioned the Commission’s authority to enter into any agreements, and
directed staff to respond to Gateway to the Driftless with a letter.
