Minutes from July 11, 2022  
A motion was made by MCGINNITY, seconded by BOUSTEAD, that the minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by the following vote:

C. Action Items  
2023 AAA Budget Priorities  
A motion was made by DERR, seconded by BROWN, to approve the 2023 AAA  
Budget Priorities as presented and the ranking order of the Budget Priorities as  
follows: 1. Case Management, 2. Nutrition, 3. Diversity and Inclusion. The  
motion carried by the following vote:

D. Presentations  
1. Caregiver Program Annual Update (Jane De Broux)  
Caregiver Program Annual Update  
AAA Caregiver Coordinator Jane De Broux presented an update on the Caregiver Grant  
program for 2022 and answered any questions by committee members. ARPA money for  
this year grant program allowed for different services to be covered as assist older adults.  
Some of these services were providing window A/C units to help with keeping a  
manageable living condition with the hot weather, Complete bathroom remodels to covert  
to walk-in showers, paying for some or all of Adult Day Care center, complete coverage  
for grandchildren attending day care for camps and assisting with paying for older adults  
to move to Independent Living centers.  
2. Dementia Crisis/Elder Abuse & Neglect/Guardianship/VOCA Programs Annual  
Update (Beth Freeman & Joy Schmidt)  
Dementia Crisis/Elder Abuse & Neglect/Guardianship/VOCA  
Programs Annual Update  
Adult Protective Services (APS) Manager Beth Freeman presented on programming and  
services available through APS and answered questions from committee members.  
ARPA funding allowing for Hoarding situations and APS is assisting in coordinating the  
applications for this program. FREEMAN asking for additional funding of two members  
for the Dementia Support Team.  
Dementia Program Update  
Dementia Program Specialist Joy Schmidt presented on what services Dane County  
Human Services offers for dementia patients and answered questions from committee  
members.  
E. Reports to Committee  
1. Chair & Staff Reports  
AAA Aging Program Specialist Angela Velasquez announced she has been promoted to  
Disability and Aging Services Division Administrator. She will still be with AAA office  
while transitioning over to her new position.

Next meeting: Monday September 12, 2022 at 2pm via Zoom.
