1. Advocacy Supporting Federal & State Programs
OLSON reported concerns of two big Medicare companies from out of state coming to
WI. Humana and Molina are in the process of taking over MCO in all of Wisconsin. The
state has not received a formal request to the Commission Office for them to do this.
Concern is loss of local control and care will decrease. Options for providers will be
greatly decreased for those on Medicare.
2. 2023 AAA Budget Priorities
OLSON reported that she and five others testified at the County Board meeting about
AAA Budget Priorities that were not met by the DCDHS budget. Case management
remains $66,000 short on the funding request. OLSON contacted Jeff Kostelic from the
County Executive office and has not heard back from him yet. OLSON is not sure if
County Executive will have the extra money otherwise need to find a sponsor on the HHN
Committee to support this funding at their budget meetings.
D. Presentations
Committee members discussed ideas for future presentations.
E. Reports to Committee
1. Diversity Work Group
KAUD shared the past two months of working with Community members to fill openings
on the AAA Board and Committees. Urban League is next on their list to work with. Jill
McHone resigned from the group and Cleveland James has applied to the AAA Board,
which leaves two openings in the work group. Long discussion of the direction of the
group and steps to take next. OLSON, KAUD and AAA Manager Sridevi Mohan will meet
in November and regroup to have a new committee recommendation to the AAA Board.
2. Wisconsin Senior Advocates
OLSON reported the group has not met with a while.
3. ADRC Governing Board
OLSON reported talking about Youth Transition. No aging discussions.

request.
