Anne Ross called the May 17, 2022 Zoo Commission meeting to order at 7:31am.

B. Consideration of Minutes

A motion was made by GUNDERSON, seconded by BECKER, that the Minutes be  
approved. The motion carried by a voice vote.  
C. Action Items  
ESTABLISHING A POLICY REQUIRING GENDER-INCLUSIVE  
RESTROOMS IN COUNTY FACILITIES

A motion was made by ROSS, seconded by BECKER, that the Resolution be  
recommended for approval. The motion carried by a voice vote.  
D. Presentations

E. Reports to Committee  
Ronda and Joseph went over the OEI report – main themes: communication and  
transparency, animal welfare, and DEAI advancement. Discussion ensued.  
Joseph – talked about our Animal Welfare Committee and what goes in to our animal  
decisions.  
Ronda gave animal updates – update on Chelsea’s pregnancy, geriatric animal care, &  
otter moves.  
Joseph gave an update on SSA, revenue, donations, and attendance.  
F. Future Meeting Items and Dates  
The next meeting will be held on June 7, 2022 at 7:30am.  
G. Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda  
None  
H. Such Other Business as Allowed by Law  
Becker asked about the status of commission appointments. The Zoo is working with  
County and Mayor’s office to get the new appointments finalized.  
I. Adjourn  
A motion was made by BECKER, seconded by GUNDERSON, that the Zoo  
Commission be adjourned at 9:46am. The motion carried unanimously.
