05-09-22 CCHIC MEETING MINUTES  
A motion was made by Kamp and seconded by Baldwin to approve the minutes  
of May 9, 2022. No discussion and no opposition. Unanimous.

D. Presentations  
1. Homelessness among justice involved individuals (presentation by JustDane)  
Shanita Lawrence, Janie Ocejo, James Morgan from JustDane shared the lived  
experience of homelessness and housing barriers, impact of justice system involvement  
on people’s lives and JustDane programming. Staff also answered the Committee  
member questions regarding community needs and solutions.  
Committee discussed items that the Committee, City and County could work on,  
including making public housing tenant selection criteria more flexible, developing  
housing options specifically for justice involved individuals and families, and reviewing  
comprehensive data on people experiencing homelessness and other community  
examples for innovative solutions.  
Following items will be added to the committee work plan for future meetings:  
presentation from CDA and DCHA regarding tenant selection criteria and comprehensive  
data on homelessness, including information on doubled up households.

2. 2022 January PIT result (presentation by HSC Point In Time Committee)  
2022 JANUARY PIT RESULTS PRESENTATION  
Sarah Lim from HSC Point in Time Committee shared the results of the 2022 January  
PIT result and answered the Committee member questions.

1. Men's Shelter Updates  
Sarah Lim provided updates on development of the new purpose-built men’s shelter.  
2. Covid-19 Response Updates  
CCHIC JUNE 2022 COVID UPDATES  
Sarah Riley, Kristina Dux and Sarah Lim provided updates on COVID-19 Vulnerable  
Population Hotel, Unsheltered Response Hotel, Isolation and Quarantine Center, and  
congregate shelter utilization and answered the committee members’ questions.
