The July 21, 2022 Executive Committee meeting will be a hybrid meeting. Members of the public can  
attend either in person or virtually via Zoom.

SUMMARY PRESENTATION BY KEEN INDEPENDENT RESEARCH -- *DRAFT*  
FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE DANE COUNTY PARKS AND ZOO  
EQUITY AND ACCESS PROGRAM EVALUATION  
Annette Humm-Keen and Brooklynne Sundseth from Keen Independent Research  
presented a summary of draft findings and recommendations from the Parks and Zoo  
Equity and Access Program Evaluation.  
Supervisor Ritt indicated she was very pleased with the focus of this project on inclusion  
and access for underserved people.  
Sup Veldran asked about how to convey comments re: the preliminary report. MacKinnon  
indicated that all supervisors and staff who have comments or questions should email  
them to her by July 28th in order to be included in the final comments to the consultants.

REPORT AND DISCUSSION ON FUNDING SUPPORT TO BUILD COUNTY BOARD  
RELATIONSHIP WITH UW-MADISON  
Co Bd Office Chief of Staff, Karin Peterson-Thurlow, spoke regarding a proposal to allot  
$5,000 per semester ($10,000 from County Board Office) to partner with UW-Madison to  
foster student engagement in and education on local government via research of special  
topics. The two first topics proposed for Fall 2022 student research are: (1) redistricting  
process post-mortem with a focus on local and national non-partisan redistricting efforts  
and lessons learned. (2) Economic development project in concert with MadRep and  
Sister County of Kassel, Germany to look at synergies (perhaps a German and/or  
planning student with international econ development interest).  
The board office will solicit topic ideas from the board for Spring 2023 student work.  
H. Future Meeting Items and Dates  
The chair indicated that the Executive Committee will have a special extra meeting on  
Wednesday, July 27, at 5:30 p.m. in CCB room 354. The meeting's focus will be to take  
up the jail referendum resolution.  
Members indicated there would be a quorum present (Doolan excused due to previous  
engagement).
